An Extraordinary Saturday: First Look
With the ceremony and reception both at the barn, DJ and I thought it would be awkward to have a big gap between the two for pictures. So we decided on a “first look” and formal pictures before the ceremony. The moms weren’t sure this was a great idea, but later both of them admitted that it didn’t take anything away from the wedding. It was a nice transition for me.
DJ checked his reflection in a window while waiting for me. Love it.

My mom unpacked me from the back seat of her car and I started down the stairs to the courtyard. I was trying to see around the corner, always impatient. Kim called this “peeking.”

Nooooo, Kim teased, You aren’t married yet! We, um, ignored her.

I pinned DJ’s bouttonniere on his jacket. (By the way, I was really happy with my puffy veil, MacGyvered the week of the wedding.)

I love the moody sky over the schoolhouse.
Silo!
Smooch. Just a minute ago DJ brought me a cup of coffee and did exactly that. Marriage is good.

The pictures are gorgeous. Not that I’m surprised, after seeing the engagement photos. Kim, you’re amazing!
Just gorgeous!
such a pretty bride. I am enjoying the recaps. Keep em coming!
love the first look and the portraits
oooh! Your pictures are so beautiful! Love them!
Thanks Harriet
Honestly, though, Julia and Dave made it super easy to take good photos. Just look at them!
I’m waiting for anyone to notice the inconsistency in these pictures. Funny Julia hasn’t even seen it
I give up, Kim. Unless it’s the fact that I gave up watermarking because it was crashing my computer, I don’t know. But now I’m curious!
Heh… In one picture, we have the moody sky. In the next, a blue sky with fluffy clouds…. I admit to tinkering with the weather in the silo picture
I had given you the benefit of the doubt and decided the weather had changed.
It was blue behind you in the field, but the clouds really didn’t lift overhead until just before the ceremony!
